It is that much. Also, APHA 2011

As I catalog the number of papers that need written, syllabi to write and books to read over the summer, my initial thought of "It really isn't that much" has become a drumbeat of "Somehow, it is that much." I'd be interested from others how they keep up with the amount of reading that they need to do. Journals aside, my list of books to get through is daunting which doesn't include the fiction I'd like to read. It doesn't help dealing with the inanity of the medical school syllabus requirements that every professor must conform to regardless of subject. I teach law, not oncology, and am having difficulty converting a lecture on health reform into "measurable objectives" with multiple choice exam questions.

Also the American Public Health Association has announced the program for this year's annual meeting. I had two abstracts selected and the Health Law Special Interest Group has put together a great set of panels that are definitely worth the trip. The meeting is in DC this year as well which saves the headache of excessive travel. I'll be setting up the usual dinner. If you have good recommendations for DC dining, send them my way.
